Mr Barry Rose

Trustee and Member of Audit and Investment Committee

Since 2001 I have been a member of the board of a variety of listed and private companies in different industries. Prior to that I was the chief executive of Scottish Provident UK.

I was attracted to join the Board of Trustee of Medical Research Scotland for two principal reasons: the growing medical needs of the world and the need for first class researchers. It is clear that medical services are struggling to meet demands, so anything that we can do to support medical developments and treatments can be extremely valuable. But that wouldn’t be feasible without high quality researchers and research. Medical Research Scotland puts great effort into encouraging people to take up research as a career and to financing good quality research projects, thus building on Scotland’s undoubted expertise in the medical area.
