We made up for lost time with a jam-packed two days of student presentations, activities and social events. As well as sharing experiences of working with their External Partner Organisations and their PhD projects, the students took part in a workshop on medical ethics, kindly delivered by guest speaker Dr Sarah Chan, Reader and Chancellor’s Fellow, University of Edinburgh, and heard about opportunities post-PhD and the business of science from Professor Jenny Woof (MRS Trustee) and Professor Heather Wallace (MRS Chair), respectively. We were delighted to welcome Dr Sumanth Iyer, Research Scientist at UKRI Science & Technology Facilities Council, back to the event. Sumanth was one MRS’s first PhD graduates and gave the current PhD students lots of tips and advice on how to navigate the world post-PhD. The students also enjoyed some much-needed respite from the intensive schedule of talks by enjoying the Perthshire air and sun, enthusiastically and competitively taking art in a Highland Games. Congratulations to the winning team!
