2024 Researcher Development Event

We were delighted to have the current cohort of enthusiastic PhD students gather in Perthshire for the 2024 Researcher Development even in March 2024. They enjoyed and learnt a lot from our guest speakers Dr Olivia Matthews (Resolution Therapeutics), Professor David Harrison (University of St Andrews), Dr Alex Bailey (Medical Research Council Regulatory Support Centre), Professor Matthew Walters (MRS Trustee) and Dr Martin Denvir (MRS Trustee), who shared experiences and knowledge on Transitioning from academia to a start-up biotech company; Working with industry, NHS and academe; What the future looks like for health data research; Learning from failure; and Creating a translational narrative for their basic science research, respectively. A big thank you to the speakers.

The students gave excellent presentations and discussed their research over posters sessions, as well as socialising and networking. The ceilidh and outdoor activity – “Old Skool Sports Day” got the thumbs up!
