2025 Researcher Development Event

A lot of fun was had at the 2025 annual PhD student’s Researcher Development Event. The Perthshire weather was kind to us to as the students enthusiastically took part in a competitive outdoor Scavenger Hunt, as respite from the more academic side of the event. The latter included excellent talks from two of our past PhD graduates, Dr Caroline Busch (GSK) and Dr James Ozanne (Tessellate BIO) and colleagues from the Daphne Jackson Trust, Dr Candace Hassall and Dr Gillian Halket. The students heard about Caroline and James’ experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Candace provide helpful advice on careers and applying for fellowships after a PhD and Gillian shared her experiences on returning to research with a Daphne Jackson Fellowship.

The students also updated us on their projects and research, which makes the event a great opportunity for us all to find out about the great work MRS is funding and for new collaborations to be fostered. The ceilidh was a great success too!
