Paolo Bianco Poster Presentation Prize awarded to Rosie Willis February 11, 2026 Rosie Willis attended the 2025 European Summer School for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine in Spetses, Greece. The week long summer school was organised by Sally Lowell (University of Edinburgh), Mekayla Storer (University of Cambridge), Kim Jensen (Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine), Austin Smith (University of Exeter) and Jenny Nelder. Rosie felt a brilliant and broad reaching range of speakers had been arranged. It was a great learning opportunity that strengthened Rosie’s excitement for science and her knowledge of the field as she entered the final year of her PhD. She also had the chance to learn invaluable skills for communicating her science from Anna Couturier, Director of Engagement and Impact at Genetic Alliance UK. At the end of the week, Rosie was really proud to be awarded the Paolo Bianco Poster Presentation Prize for the work she presented on her MRS-funded PhD on engineering the adeno associated virus for use in gene therapy in the treatment of glioblastoma, supervised by Professor Steve Pollard (University of Edinburgh). Many congratulations to Rosie. She thoroughly enjoyed the event, both in and out of the seminar room.
