Ms Linda Duncan

Vice Chair of Medical Research Scotland and Member of Audit and Investment Committee

I am a qualified accountant and led the Government Services teams at PwC and KPMG as a Director and Partner respectively. I now own a consulting business, advising clients on strategic management and governance in the UK and USA. I am an experienced non-executive Director and Chair, having previously served as the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Metropolitan Police Service and Vice-Chair of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. I am currently a Lay Court Member at Edinburgh Napier University and Convener of the Finance and Property Committee, as well as a Board Member of Blackwood Homes and Care Group, where I Chair the Audit & Finance Committee.

My work to date has enabled me to bring extensive experience in business strategy, planning and administration to the Trust, along with an insight into the arrangements for funding, quality and oversight within the Higher and Further Education sectors.

In 2019 I was attracted to this position to ensure that the Trustees make best use of the funds available to support students in carrying out vital medical research studies across Scotland, and was delighted to be appionted as Vice Chair of Medical Research Scotland in 2023.
